Christopher Peter Meloni is an American actor who is well-known for his role in the popular television show 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. His passion for acting started in his early college days. He studied acting at University of Colorado at Boulder. Though he has been active in both films and television, it is his characters on the smaller screen that brought him fame and a large fan following. He can play two characters, one from the perspective of the police as well as the other. This is what has made him so popular. On his debut TV show in which he played the role of a murderer. Then, he went on to portray the role as an NYPD Detective. For his performances on small screens, he has received multiple nominations for prestigious Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. His signature striking blue eyes that are said to make him look handsome. They have helped to portray rough characters in a charismatic way. He was named on People's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
