LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born on December 30, 1984) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The player is referred to by the name of King James and is considered to be among the greatest basketball players of all time. James has won four NBA Championships, four NBA MVP Awards as well as four NBA Finals MVP Awards and three All-Star MVP Awards. He also has the distinction of having two Olympic gold medals. James has earned the second greatest number of goals in his career and seventh-highest assists. He has been selected as an NBA All Star 18 times. James has been named an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times. He was also selected on his place on the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. He was the 3rd player to participate in NBA Finals. Eight of those were consecutive from 2011 to the year 2018. In 2021, James was selected to be part of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, and in 2022 he became the first athlete of NBA history to score 10,000 or more career points as well as assists and rebounds. James was a basketball player for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School within his home town from Akron Ohio and was heavily advertised by national media as a potential NBA superstar. In preparation for his professional career it was the Cleveland Cavaliers chose him as the first pick overall in the NBA draft in 2003. He was named as the NBA player of the year for 2004. Then he was one of the premier players in the NBA, winning an NBA MVP Award both 2009 and 2010. James, who failed to win the championship in Cleveland, in the year 2010, left as a free agent and signed with in the Miami Heat. This was made clear in The Decision. It is one of the most controversial decisions taken by a sports free-agent in history.
